Plainsman * Snow *InfoSDS Our Brightest and Whitest burning earthenware. Made from refined dolomite, ball clay and bentonite. This clay is also available in a dry version which is intended for slip casting. This clay body replaces former Talc based clays such as L213. **NOTE: This body has different characteristics than traditional low fire bodies made with Talc. This fact brings some very positive features, but may also require an adjustment in your studio practices. We highly suggest clicking the "info" button to learn more. Specifically, Plainsman recommends that all bare clay on functional ware should be fully glazed, or silicone sealed. Bare clay surfaces can allow the body to absorb water, to potentially swell, and this increases the risk of splitting.
